PRIVILEGION
- a dance piece about f*cked up beliefs

INTERVIEW with RadioDreyeckland
Ignorance and excess instead of responsibility and humility, exploitation and isolation instead of humanity and solidarity - we in the so-called Global North are aware of the connections and yet continue to live as before.
PRIVILEGION is the second dance production by DAGADA dance after HOW SOON IS NOW? (2022) as part of the ensemble's multi-year exploration of the apocalyptic crises of our time. Five young dancers from different countries - more or less privileged - meet in an empty space. Between presumption and powerlessness, they dance, celebrate and fight for supposed property, rights and truths. They thank capitalism for their prosperity, knowing full well that they are willing to accept the exploitation of others. They rage against capitalism, because as artists they are trapped in the illusion of the neoliberal art world, in an otherwise precarious life. Why still dance? Because they love it, because they live here, because... they want to have a future. But it takes courage to try out resistance.
PRIVILEGION is a performative message to an imperial lifestyle, to US!
