LANDFALL

In the face of imminent danger, humanity has repeatedly surprised itself with its creativity, courage and determination.

Monthly floods of the century, war in Europe, energy and economic crises, cracks in social cohesion - the news about new crises and collective challenges is never-ending. It is not only global crises, but also individual and very personal moments that can throw us into a crisis and are sometimes more difficult to deal with than the collective ones.

How do we deal with crises? As a society, as an individual? What pulls the ground from under our feet? What gives us stability again?

LANDFALL was created especially for the THEATERNATUR FESTIVAL 2024 of the Kulturrevier Harz as the second part of the evening ‘Glückglückglückglückglück’ and yet is part of a series of recent DAGADA dance performances that have dealt with apocalyptic crises of our time. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's ‘A Descent into the Maelstrom’ and the music of the same name by Philip Glass, Karolin Stächele and her DAGADA dance team create a dance response to the excessive demands of our time.

LANDFALL is a production of the THEATERNATUR FESTIVAL in cooperation with DAGADA dance, funded by the Kunststiftung des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt, supported by bewegungs-art freiburg e.V., E-WERK Freiburg and earlybirdpictures.
